Wellness Workdays Serves Up Wellness Program for Frozen Food Distributor & Ice Cream Manufacture

iScream Well-being Initiative Encourages Employees to Make Wellness a Priority

Simco Logistics, Inc.

Wellness Workdays, a leading provider of worksite wellness programs, has been selected by Simco Logistics to design and deliver a wellness program for its 430 employees located in 14 locations across four states. One of the largest frozen food distributors in the mid-Atlantic, Simco’s leading Jack and Jill ice cream brand is the genesis for its creatively named iScream wellness program.

“Simco Logistics has a proud legacy of being a family-oriented company with siblings and parents working for us. With that said, health, wellness and prosperity are critical to having an engaged workforce” said, Brian Ford, Director of Human Resources. “We are excited to partner with Wellness Workdays to design our wellness initiative to keep people healthy, provide a vibrant environment for employee productivity and a high level of job satisfaction for another 90 years!”

Simco’s employees hold diverse jobs within the organization – from traditional office positions to warehouse workers and truck drivers. The goal of the program is to meet the needs and interests of all these populations and improve employees’ mental, physical and emotional wellness. Simco’s incentive-based program was launched in November with on-site wellness events, which included biometric screenings and personal health assessments. The company’s employees have embraced the healthy benefits offered by the iScream wellness initiative and are excited to meet their health goals.

“Wellness Workdays has been a true partner from the start of our relationship, “ said Margaret Vessey, CFO of Simco. “The team provided a 360 approach to communicating in all our locations, reinforced participation and helped foster a diverse wellness committee to make the programs stick. We are seeing the impact their strategic direction and hands-on approach have made on our people and look forward to a long relationship with them.”

During the first year of the program Simco employees will have the opportunity to learn about nutrition, healthy physical activity habits and stress management techniques. Simco will utilize Wellness Workdays’ proprietary technology portal and online programs in conjunction with onsite activities such as wellness challenges and health-related seminars to promote behavior change.

“Simco’s objective is to create a wellness-friendly environment that encourages employees to make well-being a priority,” said Debra Wein, CEO of Wellness Workdays. “The company’s senior management, as well as their dedicated wellness committee, which includes individuals from all areas of the company, are committed to developing a culture of health at Simco."
